Keeping in touch

We always keep in touch with our kids when they were young with little notes in lunchboxes and notes on the fridge with reminders. Now we're in the computer age and all of us have email addresses and we started sending each other jokes that we received from other friends. Then we started sending messages, little notes reminders, or if we had a fight I'd send an email saying 'I think we need to talk about this when we're all calm.'

Little by little we began sending mail. Everyone loves to get mail even if it's from mom and dad. Even though we live in the same house we don't get together as much as we used to and I really think this suits the lifestyles of today's parents. It helps us look at each other like friends. It's a non-threatening way to resolve conflicts and open the doors of communication.
