Setting And Achieving Goals

Setting And Achieving Goals
My idea for goal setting is probably best for children between the ages of 5-7. I thought it would be nice to be able to show kids something to help them visualize their goal as a thing that they wanted to achieve and what steps they could take towards that goal.
I would have my child draw a picture of the goal that they wanted to achieve and we would draw a ladder under the picture and write down the steps it would take to achieve that goal, one action on each rung of the ladder.

When I was young, nobody taught me how to set goals and I always thought I would have benefited from that a lot. Sometimes achieving your goal seems almost impossible, but if you can see the small steps that might lead you toward that goal, it makes it much more manageable. That's the idea of using a ladder, so you can see step-by-step what you need to do to achieve your goal.

I think it is very important to talk to small children about goal setting and parents need to share their own goals with their children and set some family goals for everyone to achieve together.
