Kid 'Cademy Awards

Kid 'Cademy Awards

We thought of this when we were visiting someone on a rainy afternoon and the kids had nothing to do for entertainment. So I got the boys together and we talked about books they have read.

They all had read Harry Potter and liked it, so I asked them to choose two scenes from the book and prepare a little acting skit. They would make up the lines, but act out the scene they had chosen so that they could convey the message to the audience. Then when the acting from both scenes was over, they would each get to ask the audience one question about the little scenes they had performed for us. The person in the audience who answers correctly, gets to be the presenter of the award (one for each child).

This is a great way to spend a rainy afternoon and teach kids creativity.
