Managing Toys

Managing Toys

We found that our preschool child had accumulated a lot of toys around the holidays since his birthday is close to Christmas. We noticed that he would be tired of these new toys very quickly. So we decided to give him the opportunity to pick the toys he was tired of, or had outgrown, and take them into a local consignment shop.

We basically sell these older toys at the consignment shop and at the same time allow our son to pick out a new toy about the same value and take it home. That way he is always getting new, novel toys to keep his interest up and we don't spend a lot of money going to expensive toy stores.

We are very careful not to let him trade in toys that we think he still likes, so there are not any regrets.
